Written Summary:

Juan Carlos Santana may be new to some of our martial artists out there but I am here to tell you he is the real deal. As a trainer, martial arts instructor and healthcare professional I have long been a fan of Mr. Santana. He is a renowned world class trainer of athletes, including MMA athletes and is a presenter at major conferences dealing with fitness. He has produced a long list of training DVDs dealing with fitness and training. I didn’t realize he was also a judo competitor and has teamed with Judo Olympian Rahdi Fergusen to produce five excellent DVDs on training for grappling with the gi, without, mixed martial arts, kickboxing and boxing. Forget what you know or think you know; these DVDs will take you to the next level. I thought after reviewing Martin Rooney’s DVD, Training for Warriors, there was nothing new under the sun. I stand corrected. There are some great exercises in these DVDs, for instance try doing a flying arm bar on a rope. Mr. Santana’s philosophy is nobody they train will ever be defeated because of lack of conditioning. Martial arts have radically changed over the years with the advent of MMA. Training has to change to reflect that. Having taught martial arts for years I can tell you that most people just are not hip to training like a modern athlete or sports team. What I like about these DVDs is there is no guess work. Everything on these DVDs is based on exercise science and how to apply these concepts to your specific training. For the non believers out there, and you know there are always some, the Intocombat web-site has a great feature. You can actually preview DVD clips to see if you want to buy them. Mr. Santana has nothing to hide and is offering only great quality information on how to get in top condition. I highly recommend these DVDs and want to add my own personal belief that conditioning is essential. I have seen a lot of athletes with great technique lose because of lack of conditioning. Don’t let it happen to you, ever!
